Dennis Cox

Dennis Michael Cox, 65, of Chouteau, passed away on February 7, 2019 at his home. He was born on September 10, 1953 in Kansas City, Missouri; the son of Russell and Juanita (Kirkpatrick) Cox. He worked for many years as a parts specialist at Roberts Chevrolet in Pryor and Suburban Chevrolet in Claremore. Dennis enjoyed going to auctions, spending time outdoors, and being in the country. He also like to read and spend time with his grandchildren. Dennis was a wonderful father and grandfather who will be missed by all who knew and loved him.

Funeral services will be held Wednesday, February 13, 2019 in the Cedar Crest Baptist Church in Locust Grove, Oklahoma with Reverend Jess Dinsmore officiating. Burial will follow with Tony Morris, Jeremy Cox, Trey Morris, Darrell Ferguson, Butch Ferguson and Michael Ferguson serving as casket bearers. Visitation will be held from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m., Tuesday, February 12, 2019 in the Shipman’s Funeral Home Chapel. Dennis is survived by his son, Corey Cox of Mechanicsburg, PA; daughter, Wendy and husband Tony Morris of Locust Grove, OK; sisters, Pat Coatney and husband Jerry of Chouteau, OK and Rhonda Peterson of Livingston, MT; 3 grandchildren; and many other relatives and friends. He is preceded in death by his brother, Gary Cox and parents, Russell and Juanita Cox.
