Denny Ray Eglian, 56, of Pryor, passed from this life on Tuesday, September 22, 2020. He was born on March 12, 1964 in Shelbyville, Indiana; the son of Leroy and Hazel (Eldridge) Eglian. Denny married Brenda Hogshooter on November 13, 1985 in Miami, Oklahoma. Together, they had 4 children: Daniel, Mary Jo, Dale, and Sophia. Denny owned a tree service business for many years before retiring. He enjoyed playing bingo, poker and going to the casino. Denny also looked forward to listening to country music and watching Gunsmoke and Sanford and Sons. He loved being outdoors, anything from camping and fishing to working in his yard. Above all, Denny loved spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren. A loving husband, father, and grandfather who will be dearly missed by those who knew and loved him.
Services for Denny will be held on Monday, September 28, 2020 at 2:00 p.m. at Shipman’s Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor BJ Cummings officiating. Burial to follow at Round Springs Cemetery in Eucha, Oklahoma with Jamie Eglian, Michael Lansaw, Derrick Smoke, Terrance Lansaw, Donavan Jumper, Roosevelt Jumper, and Stevie Smoke serving as casket bearers. Honorary casket bearers will be William Buzzard, Chris Smith, Gary Hogshooter, Colton Jones, Cody Stewart, and Justin Bruffet. Visitation will be held on Sunday, September 27, 2020 from 3:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. at Shipman’s Funeral Home Chapel. Denny is survived by his wife, Brenda, of the home; sons, Daniel Eglian and Stephanie Gomez of Pryor, Oklahoma and Chris Smith of Pryor, Oklahoma; daughter, Mary Jo Woods and husband Keith of Kenwood, Oklahoma; brothers, Gary, Terry, Bobby, and Rick Eglian; 12 grandchildren, Cassandra Jumper and husband Donavan, Scott Thompson and wife Megan, Riley Eglian, Shyanna Eglian, Kyeran Eglian, Greyson Eglian, Hayven Eglian, Michael Lansaw, Terrence Lansaw, Stephanie Blackfox, Clinton Lansaw, and Wesley Lansaw; 11 great grandchildren, Nevia Jumper, Quintyn Mann, Weston Thompson, Rooklynn Lansaw, Braxton Lansaw, Malachi Maldonado, Adrian Maldonado, Elena Maldonado, Saint Wagnon, and one on the way; and many other relatives and friends. He is preceded in death by his parents, Leroy and Hazel; brothers, Jerry, Bill, Arthur, Timmy, and David Eglian; daughter, Sophia Darlene Thompson; and son, Dale Wayne Lansaw.
