Derek Lee Walbran, also known as Uncle Dork, was born on March 12, 1982, in Tulsa, Oklahoma. He passed away on Saturday, March 16, 2024, in Tulsa, Oklahoma, at the age of 42. Derek was a man who found joy in the simple pleasures of life.
Derek's hobbies and interests were a central part of who he was. He treasured his family above all else and cherished every moment spent with them. Riding his Harley, Gypsy, brought him great happiness, and he could often be found cruising the open roads for hours on end. His love for the outdoors led him to enjoy activities like gardening, fishing, and hunting. He was a dedicated father who took immense pride in watching his children participate in sports. Derek had a fondness for Red Bull and always made sure to have it close by. His affection extended to his dogs, Dodge and Echo, who were loyal companions. Derek leaves this world much too soon and will always be remembered for being a loyal friend and loved by all who crossed his path.
Derek is survived by his wife, Nicole Walbran, of the home; children, Alexis Walbran, Dalton Walbran, Eli Walbran, Paytn Walbran, and Keri Williams; brother, Nic Stroup and wife Brittney along with their son Amiri from Sulphur Springs, AR; mother, Rose Looney of Pryor; stepbrothers Chris Looney and BJ Looney; stepfather Don Stroup and wife Kathy of Michigan.
He is preceded in death by his father, Rick Sharp; son, Kaleb Walbran; and stepfather, Richard Looney. Derek leaves behind a legacy that will forever be remembered by those closest to him.
