D.J. Cook

D.J. Cook, 80, of Pryor, passed away on Saturday, February 20, 2016 in Pryor, Oklahoma. He was born on June 3, 1935 in Hanna, Oklahoma; the son of Theodore and Ruby (McAdoo) Cook. Dad worked as a truck driver most of his life and also for Mayes county District 1. He enjoyed riding horses, spending time with his family and attending various churches around the area. He also looked forward to working around the house. He will be missed by all who knew and loved him and will be remembered by all the wonderful memories he leaves behind. Graveside services will be held at 11:00 a.m., Saturday, February 27, 2016 in the Graham Memorial Cemetery with Reverend Robert Killman officiating. Visitation will beheld from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m., Friday, February 26, 2016 in the Shipman's Funeral Home Chapel. D.J. is survived by his son, Dennis Cook and wife Karen of Pryor, Oklahoma; daughters,Karen Reed of Chelsea, Oklahoma and Cynthia Young of Pryor, Oklahoma; brother,Lonnie Cook and wife Linda of Claremore, Oklahoma; sister, Kercena Padgett of Houston, Texas; 6 grandchildren; 9 great grandchildren; many other relatives and friends. He is preceded in death by his wife, Margaret Cook and his parents,Theodore and Ruby Cook; infant son, Danny Joe Cook; brother, T.J. Cook and sister, Ahlloween Moore.
