Donald Shaull

Donald Shaull, loving father and grandfather, went to be with his Lord on Sunday, September 20, 2015. Donald was born on September 12, 1928 in Yale, Oklahoma to Homer and Gladys Shaull and was raised in the Council Valley Community with two brothers and one sister. Upon turning 17 years old, Donald enlisted in the U.S. Army. After completing basic training and AIT training at Fort Bragg, North Carolina; he was stationed in several South Pacific islands, including Saipan, Guam and Iwo Jima. Upon Discharge from the Army, he came home to Yale and then completed an electrician's apprenticeship program through IBEW Local "Union 584. Donald continued working through the IBEW at various locations in the Midwest states until his retirement in 1990. Donald married Mildred Dethloff from Cushing, Oklahoma on October 16, 1953; they were blessed with three children while living in Tulsa. In 1971, the family moved to Pryor, where they started attending Pleasant View Baptist Church. After retiring Donald and Mildred enjoyed traveling with friends throughout the US in their travel trailer, attending gospel singings. When not traveling, Donald was always helping others, either at church, delivering Meals on Wheels with Mildred or helping friends and neighbors in need. Donald and Mildred had just celebrated their 60th wedding anniversary before Mildred's death in 2014 and he was like a lost soul without her by his side. Donald leaves behind to mourn his loss, three children, Phyllis McLemore of Tulsa, Sandra McKinzie and husband George of Pryor, Alan Shaull and wife Angie of Pryor; also left are his six grandchildren, James McLemore, John McLemore and wife Anna, Jeremy McLemore and wife Casey, Kyle McKinzie and wife Aimee, Aubree McKinzie and Franklin Shaull, along with six great - granddaughters and one great grandson. Donald also leaves behind one brother, Harry Shaull and wife Betty of Bixby, Oklahoma, plus numerous nieces, nephews and friends. Donald is preceded in death by his parents, his wife, Mildred, son, Ronald James Shaull, brother, LaRoy Shaull and sister, LeElla Dethloff
