Donald Lee Soldier, 73, of Salina, passed away on Sunday, April 6, 2014 in Salina, Oklahoma. He was born on November 28, 1940 in Claremore, Oklahoma; the son of William Soldier, Sr. and Sally (Tanner) Soldier. Donald faithfully served his country in the United States Army and Navy. He loved to listen to oldies music and work on cars. He also enjoyed picking wild onions and spending time outdoors. Donald cherished the times he had to spend with his children and grandchildren. He will be remembered by all the wonderful memories he leaves behind and will be missed by all who knew and loved him. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m., Friday, April 11, 2014 in the Blue Springs Church with Reverend Bridge Chuckluck and Reverend Duke Pickup officiating. Interment will be in the Grass Cemetery with Thomas Easky, Lucas Chuckluck, James Littledave, Drew Easky, Little John Pickup, Jr., and Cody Soldier serving as casket bearers. Visitation will be held from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m., Thursday, April 10, 2014 in the Shipman's Funeral Home Chapel. He is survived by his sons, Jess Jr. and wife Jennifer Blossom of Locust Grove, Oklahoma and Thomas Easky of Tulsa, Oklahoma; his daughters, Annette and husband Jeremy Bacon of Salina, Oklahoma, Amanda Soldier of Salina, Oklahoma, Kimberly Kingfisher and Randall Fencer of Salina, Oklahoma, Cassie Blossom of Salina, Oklahoma, Mariah Soldier of Salina, Oklahoma, and Lena Blossom and Tony Soldier of Salina, Oklahoma; brothers, William Soldier, Jr. of Salina, Oklahoma, Richard (Bear) Soldier of Salina, Oklahoma, and Robert (Gene) Soldier of Salina, Oklahoma; sisters, Lorene and husband Bob Rogers of Keys, Oklahoma and Mary and husband Jim Young of Chouteau, Oklahoma; 27 grandchildren and 1 great grandchild. He is preceded in death by his wife, Mary Sue, his parents, William Soldier, Sr. and Sally Tanner, sisters, Mable Nunley and Flora Soldier, and grandchildren, Trailen Fencer and Aiyana Bacon.
