Donald Eugene Stafford

Donald Eugene Stafford, 78, of Pryor, passed away on Saturday, March 4, 2023 in Tulsa. He was born on November 26, 1944, in Shawnee, Oklahoma; the son of Calvin and Erma (Hall) Stafford. He faithfully served his country in the Army National Guard. Donald worked for many years as a lineman for Southwestern Bell Telephone Company. He enjoyed traveling with his wife, Patricia. Together, they visited Alaska twice and he enjoyed sightseeing. He also looked forward to going antiquing, working on clocks, and watching sci – fi movies. Donald was a godly man, and was a member of the Pryor Church of Christ, where he was also an elder. Donald was an OU football fan and loved to watch them anytime they played. Donald had an ornery side, and always enjoyed making people smile. He leaves behind many memories and will be missed by all who knew and loved him.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m., Thursday, March 9, 2023 in the Pryor Church of Christ with Brother Keith Cagle and Brother DJ Castoe officiating. Burial will follow in the Graham Memorial Cemetery with Bo Stafford, Trey Stafford, Andy Stafford, Kenny Jones, Tony Stafford, and Randall Engle serving as casket bearers. Honorary casket bearers will be Richard Martin, Jr., John Paul Stafford, Gabe Sheets, and Austin Nelson. Visitation will be held from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m., Wednesday, March 8, 2023 at Shipman’s Funeral Home. Donald is survived by his wife, Patricia of the home; son, John Stafford and wife Jennifer of Pryor, Oklahoma; daughters, Donna Martin and husband Richard of Pryor, Oklahoma and Angela Thompson and husband Daniel of Pryor, Oklahoma; brother, Bill Stafford of Pryor, Oklahoma; 11 grandchildren; 17 great grandchildren; and many other relatives and friends. He is preceded in death by his parents, Calvin and Erma Stafford; brothers, JC Stafford and Wayne Stafford; sisters, Barbara Jones, Lynda Lee, and Delpha Mae Moore; granddaughter, Reanna Stafford; and sister-in-law, Bonnie Stafford.
