Donna Baumgartel

Donna Lynn Baumgartel, 68, of Locust Grove, passed away on November 7, 2018 at her home. She was born on March 6, 1950 in Amarillo, Texas; the daughter of Charlie Lee and Lula Oline (Frair) Croney. She married John Baumgartel on September 13, 1966 in Howard, Kansas at the age of 16 years old. She worked as a nurse aid most of her life and as a cabinet builder. Donna has lived in the Mayes County area for 18 years, coming from Kansas. She and John were members of the Community of Christ Church in Locust Grove and enjoyed attending services there. She loved to read, garden, feed the birds, tend to her flowers, travel and go to yard sales. Donna also looked forward to working on word find puzzles, horses, and listening to Elvis Presley music. She was a wonderful wife, mother and grandmother who will be missed by all who knew and loved her.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m., Monday, November 12, 2018 in the Community of Christ Church in Locust Grove with Reverend Jeff Rogers and Joy Harper officiating. Visitation will be held from 3:00 p.m. until 5:00 p.m., Sunday, November 11, 2018 in the Shipman’s Funeral Home Chapel. Donna is survived by her husband, John Baumgartel of the home; Steven Baumgartel and wife Robin of Locust Grove, Oklahoma; daughter, Sherry Louk of Perry, Iowa; brothers, A.W. Croney of Sherman, Texas and Terry Croney of Kansas; sister in law, Jessie Croney of Kansas; 6 grandchildren; 9 great grandchildren; and many other relatives and friends. She is preceded in death by her parents, Charlie and Lula Croney, 3 sisters, and 1 brother.
