Doris Louise Helton, 81, of Adair, Oklahoma, passed away on Friday, February 21, 2014 in Tulsa, Oklahoma. She was born on November 19, 1932 in Mayes County, the daughter of Clarence E. Ragsdale and Ethel I. (Kating) Ragsdale. She attended school in Adair and Chouteau, later attendingcollege obtaining her teaching degree. She married her first husband, Kirby Stricklin who preceded her in death on November 24, 1967. She later married Wayne Helton on August 12, 1972 west of Adair, Oklahoma. Wayne preceded her in death on June 16, 2013. She was a member of the Adair United Methodist Church in Adair, Oklahoma. Doris loved to sew, making beautiful quilts for her loved ones. She enjoyed being with her family and friends. Doris loved her Lord and her large family, leaving many wonderful memories and a Christian legacy for her family to cherish. Funeral Services for Doris will be held on Monday, February 24, 2014 at 2:00 p.m., in the Adair United Methodist Church with Pastor Dylan Ward officiating. Interment will be in the Adair Cemetery with her Jason Stricklin, Eli Stricklin, Matt Stricklin, Shawn Stricklin, Danny Ragsdale and Doug Ray serving as casket bearers. She is survived by her children, Kerry and wife, Janet Stricklin of Mustang, OK, Roger Stricklin of Pryor, OK, Michael and wife, Kathy Stricklin of Weedsport, NY; grandchildren, Jason, London, Eli, Matthew, Hannah, Emily, Bethany, Shawn, Stevan and Christopher; 9 great grandchildren; brother, Leo Ragsdale of Pryor, OK; sisters, Ava "Sue" Ray and husband, Jack of Pensacola, OK and Linda Jaggers of Pryor, OK; many other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her first husband, Kirby Stricklin; second husband, Wayne Helton; daughter, Coral Ann Jones; granddaughter, Bethany Stricklin; brothers, Bob Ragsdale and Raymond Kating; sister, Peggy Dunham; parents, Clarence and Ethel Ragsdale.
