Doris A. Heathcott, a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, passed away Friday, May 10,2024, in Chouteau, Oklahoma, at the age of 81. She was born on August 3, 1942, in Hattieville Arkansas, to Marshall and Gertrude (Anderson) Tucker.
Doris dedicated her life to her family and her work. For five decades, she stood by her husband's side owning the Standard Auto Parts store in Pryor. Her commitment and hard work were further highlighted during her 21-year tenure as a manager at Braums.
Family was everything to Doris. She found immense joy in watching her grandsons play ball and race as they grew up. She loved spending time with loved ones, especially her great grandbabies. The holidays held a special place in her heart as they brought the family together—a testament to the love and bond she shared with those closest to her. Doris also loved her collection of antique swans.
Among her proudest accomplishments was her marriage to Douglas on September 15, 1962, in Holdenville, Oklahoma. Together they built a life starting in Wetumka before settling in Pryor in 1964.
Doris is survived by her devoted husband of 62 years, Douglas Heathcott; cherished sisters Ethel Phelan of Holdenville, OK, and Lottie Tate of Fort Worth, TX; adored grandsons Zane Heathcott and wife Caitlin, and Slade Heathcott and wife Lauren; as well as her precious great-grandchildren Keirstin, Brayton, Kayden, Kysen, and Ayden James.
She is preceded in death by her loving parents Marshall and Gertrude Tucker and her son Jeff Heathcott.
Doris will be remembered for her warmth, love for family, dedication to work, and the grace with which she touched the lives of those around her. Her legacy of love and devotion will continue to live on in the hearts of all who had the privilege of knowing her.
