Douglas Dewayne Heathcott, born on April 19, 1942, in Holdenville, Oklahoma, passed away on July 5, 2024, in Chouteau, Oklahoma. With a heavy heart, we reflect on the vibrant life of a man who touched the lives of many. Douglas proudly served in the Army National Guard and rose to the esteemed rank of Sergeant 1st Class. Among his proudest accomplishments was his marriage to Doris Heathcott on September 15, 1962, in Holdenville, OK. Their love was a beacon of light for all who knew them. After 61 years of marriage, Doris passed away on May 10, 2024. A graduate of Wetumka High School, Douglas was known for his sharp mind and quick wit. He had a passion for hunting, fishing, and watching baseball —especially Yankee baseball and was a die-hard OU football fan. In his younger years, evenings were often spent at Pryor Lanes, where he was a member of several bowling leagues. For many years, Douglas managed AutoZone with dedication and skill. His work ethic was unparalleled, and he always went above and beyond to ensure the satisfaction of his customers. Additionally, he was the proud owner and operator of Colonial Auto Service in Tulsa. Beyond his professional achievements, Douglas was deeply involved in his community. He served as the President of the Rotary Club and remained a dedicated member for 17 years. His generosity knew no bounds, and he constantly sought ways to give back to those around him. In this time of mourning, we remember Douglas Dewayne Heathcott as a loving husband, a devoted service member, a successful businessman, and a cherished member of the community. His legacy will endure through the memories shared by those who were fortunate enough to know him.

Douglas is survived by his loving family and friends who will carry his spirit in their hearts forever, including his grandsons, Zane Heathcott and wife Caitlin and Slade Heathcott and wife Lauren; and brother, Gene Heathcott and wife Kay; and many other relatives and friends. He is preceded in death by his wife, Doris Heathcott; son, Jeff Heathcott; 2 brothers and 3 sisters.
