Douglas Lewis

Douglas Russel Lewis, 86, of Spavinaw, Oklahoma, passed away on Tuesday, November 7, 2017 at his home. He was born on March 9, 1931 in Clarksville, Arkansas; the son of William Sherman Lewis and Jewell (Carter) Lewis. In the late 1960's and early 1970's, Douglas owned a Gun Shop in Tulsa. He sold new and used guns, and repaired them as well. He enjoyed being around firearms and working with them. He also worked most of his life for American Airlines. His family built a cabin in the 1960's on Spavinaw Lake and he enjoyed going to spend time there and going fishing. Douglas looked forward to spending time outdoors, and enjoyed woodworking. He loved his family and was a wonderful father and grandfather.

A Memorial Service will be held on Friday, November 10, 2017 at 11 a.m. in the Spavinaw House of Worship at 5699 N. 445 Drive, Spavinaw, Oklahoma. He is survived by his life partner, Lorri Rhodes of Spavinaw, Oklahoma; son, Douglas A. Lewis and wife Kimberly of Owasso, Oklahoma; sister-in-law, Virginia Lewis of Tulsa: niece, Judy Lewis of Tulsa, OK; Oklahoma; 6 grandchildren, Phillip Griffin, Joe Lewis, Vicki Vargas, Christie Warlick, Kelsey Henshaw and Kyle Lewis; several great grandchildren; and many other relatives and friends. He is preceded in death by his parents, William and Jewell Lewis.
