Douglas Raymond Watson was born October 24, 1954 in St. Petersburg, Florida; the son of Charles and Mary Watson. He moved with his family in 1964 to Checotah, Oklahoma. He graduated from Checotah High School and attended OSU tech school. Douglas worked for family at Oklahoma Western Lines for many years. He married the love of his life, Charlotte Ann, on March 23, 1985. Doug became a Mason and was very proud of his accomplishments in becoming a 33rd Degree Mason. His other love was airplanes; not just certain types, but all types, even experimental ones. He went to Osh - Kosh several times, and big flyin and Airshows in Florida. He also owned Our Place restaurant for a few years in Checotah. Doug was a very proud and honest person and always helped his fellow man. He will truly be missed by all that knew him.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m., Wednesday, January 3, 2017 in the Westside Free Will Baptist Church in Checotah with Reverend Jackie Brown officiating. Burial will follow in the Greenlawn Cemetery with Richard Wolf, Jeff Wolf, Jeff Benson, Roger Beaver, Terry Cramer, and Josheb English serving as casket bearers. Visitation will be held from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m., Tuesday, January 2, 2018 in the Hunn Black & Merritt Funeral Home in Eufaula. Douglas is survived by his step son, Ladd Polk and wife Leann of Duncan, Oklahoma; step daughter, Stephanie Heimbach and husband Mike of Ovilla, Texas; sister, Barbara Davis of Pryor, Oklahoma; brother, Sam Watson and wife Cydne of Checotah, Oklahoma; nephew, Brian Davis and wife Lisa of West Siloam Springs, Arkansas and Kevin Watson of Muskogee, Oklahoma; great nephew, Derrick Davis of Pryor, Oklahoma; and many other relatives and friends. He is preceded in death by his parents, CR Watson and Mary Watson, wife, Charlotte Watson, brother in law, Phillip Davis, nephew, Danny Davis, and great nephew, Kaleb Davis.
