Doyle Austin

Doyle Mitchell Austin, 89, of Pryor, Oklahoma, went to be with his Lord on June 30, 2013 at his home. He was born on August 22, 1923 west of Pryor, the son of Monroe Austin and Margaret (Panter) Austin. Doyle graduated from Pryor High School in 1942. Also in 1942, he married Billie Keith who preceded him in death on January 22, 2002. He later married Wanda Sowersby Garner on April 12, 2003 in Tulsa, Oklahoma. He sold and serviced Kirby Vacuums for many years as well as worked for Standard Auto Parts for 25 years as a salesman. Doyle was a member of the Trinity Pentecostal Holiness Church. He began preaching the gospel of Jesus Christ in the 1940's and continued at every opportunity until his final weeks of life. Doyle dearly loved his Lord, his family, his church family, his neighbors and friends. A kind, Godly man who has touched so many lives in his 89 years on this earth will be dearly missed. Funeral Services for Doyle will be held on Wednesday, July 3, 2013 at 10:00 a.m., in the Shipman's Funeral Chapel with Reverend Carl Parson officiating. Interment will follow in the Fairview Cemetery with Cass Benner, Allen Garner, Roger Garner, Ron Garner, Peter Kovaleski and Brad Parson serving as casket bearers. He is survived by his wife, Wanda of the home; step-children, Kathryn Inglett of Broken Arrow, OK, Roger Garner of Broken Arrow, OK, Allen Garner of Broken Arrow, OK, Ron Garner of Lufkin, TX, Joy Kovaleski of Tulsa, OK and Judy Clark of Siloam Springs, AR; brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Dennis and Georgia Keith of Pryor, OK; six step grandchildren and two step great grandchildren; many other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, Monroe and Margaret Austin; his first wife, Billie (Keith) Austin; his son, Galen Austin; two brothers Roy and E.H. Austin; three sisters, Eythlene, Agness and Patty.
