Dr. Mason

Dr. Bruce Lee Mason, 59, of Pryor, Oklahoma, went to be with his Lord on Monday, December 22, 2014 in Tulsa, Oklahoma. He was born on March 15, 1955 in Tulsa, Oklahoma, the son of Edward "Hawk" Mason and Trixie Edith (Jones) Mason. Bruce was raised by two wonderful dads, Ed Mason, who died when Bruce was 10 and Roy Glasco whom his mother married when Bruce was 11. He married Janell Springer on May 20, 1978 in Tulsa, Oklahoma and made a wonderful life together of over 37 years. He received his doctorate in Theology. Bruce worked for the Craig-Mayes Baptist Association as their Director of Missions for the last 16 years. He was a wonderful home designer, designing many homes in our area. A job which he enjoyed using his artistic talents. He never met a stranger and loved making people laugh. Bruce loved traveling with Janell, friends and family, especially going on cruises. He enjoyed driving his convertible. He enjoyed life and others enjoyed his love of it just by being with him. He dearly loved his Lord and telling others about Him. Bruce was a mentor, a rescuer and encourager. He always believed in second chances and the best in others. Bruce was a wonderful husband, son, uncle, nephew and dear friend who loved his Lord, showing that love to others in his life. A Memorial Service to Celebrate Bruce's life will be held on Saturday, December 27, 2014 at 2 p.m. in the First Baptist Church in Pryor, Oklahoma with Dr. Mike Cox, Dr. Grant Wyse and Dr. Steve Bass officiating. He is survived by his wife, Janell of the home; his mother, Trixie Edith Glasco of Tulsa, OK; sisters, Jimmie Jo Keehn and husband, Bud of Pretty Water, OK, Linda Hitchcock and husband, Don, Ordeath Richardson and husband, Bob of Tulsa, OK and Louise Gillean and husband, Danny of Tulsa, OK; nieces, Stacie Holloway and husband, Jerry, Angie Ivey, Amanda Adcock and husband, Jeff, Nikki Ivey, Haleigh Mason, Alyssa McInturf and husband, Cody; many other relatives and dear friends. He is preceded by his father, Ed Mason; father, Roy Glasco; brother, Lynn Mason; and sister, June Ivey.
