Duke Cordrey

Duke P.L. "Duke" Cordrey, 18, of Porum, Oklahoma, passed away on Wednesday, March 9, 2011 in a Tulsa Hospital. Duke was born on November 20, 1992 in Claremore, Oklahoma, the son of Jimmy Lewis Cordrey and Elizabeth J. (McCarty) Cordrey. Duke had lived in Porum since he was 5 years old. He enjoyed bowling and playing play station games. He loved being outdoors, especially going squirrel hunting. Duke never met a stranger and truly enjoyed people. He was a young man who was loved by everyone and will live on in the hearts and memories of all who knew and loved him. Funeral Services will be held at 2 p.m. Tuesday, March 15, 2011, in the Shipman's Funeral Chapel with Reverend Junior Mullin officiating. Interment will be in the Graham Memorial Cemetery in Pryor, Oklahoma. Viewing will be from 1 p.m. until 5 p.m. on Sunday afternoon and 10 a.m. until 8 p.m. on Monday at the funeral home. Duke is survived by his father, Jimmy L. Cordrey ; his maternal grandparents, Paul and Betty McCarty of Pryor, OK; his paternal grandparents, Lee Roy and Dortha Brashier of Porum, OK; his aunts, Susan Fiscus of St. Joseph, IL and Letha Brewer of Gaston, NC; his uncle, David Cordrey of Pryor, OK; cousins, Mariah McCarty and Codie Fiscus; many other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his mother, Elizabeth (McCarty) Cordrey.
