Earnest Carter Jr.

Earnest Rubin Carter, Jr., 74, of Claremore, passed away on Saturday, October 5, 2013 in Claremore, Oklahoma. He was born on March 22, 1939 in Claremore, Oklahoma, the son of Earnest and Addie (Dobbs) Carter. He worked as a plumber for many years and also as an assembler for Unit Rigg. He enjoyed gardening and especially loved his rose bushes. He also enjoyed dancing and attending church. He was a lovely man who will be missed by all who knew and loved him. Visitation will be held from 10:00 a.m. until 5:00 p.m on Tuesday, October 8, 2013 in the Shipman's Funeral Home in Pryor. A private burial will be held at a later date in the Woodlawn Cemetery in Claremore, Oklahoma. Earnest is survived by his brother, Robert A. Carter of Claremore, Oklahoma; and 2 sisters, Helen Brainard of Pryor, Oklahoma and Anna Carter of Pryor, Oklahoma. He is preceded in death by his parents and sisters, Lela Welch, Margaret Carter and Shirley Cornell.
