Elaine Rose Lyon, 88, of Pryor, passed away on Saturday, September 23, 2017 in Salina. She was born on July 9, 1929 in Tulsa, Oklahoma; the daughter of Cecil Monroe and Rose (Dietzel) Harding. Elaine has lived in the Mayes County area since 1962, coming from Tulsa. She was a member of the First Baptist Church in Pryor and was a first grade teacher and Sunday school teacher for 35 years. She was an avid china and porcelain artist. Elaine was a member of the international Porcelain Art Teachers for years. She loved nature and loved all animals. She leaves behind many wonderful memories and will be missed by all who knew and loved her.
Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m., Wednesday, September 27, 2017 in the Shipman's Funeral Home Chapel with Chaplain Roger Miller and Reverend Junior Mullin officiating. Burial will follow in the Fairview Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m., Tuesday, September 26, 2017 in the Shipman's Funeral Home Chapel. Elaine is survived by her son, Tim Lyon and wife Lisa of Pryor, Oklahoma; daughter, Cynthia Black and husband Darrell of Pryor, Oklahoma; 6 grandchildren; and 5 great grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her parents, Cecil and Rose Harding; her husband, Richard Lyon; and step father, Paul Putman.
