Elmon Puryear

Elmon Murle Puryear, 87, of Spavinaw, Oklahoma, passed away on Wednesday, November 9, 2011 in Vinita, Oklahoma. He was born in Spicewood, Texas on December 17, 1923, the son of James Grandison Puryear and Debbie (Brown) Puryear. He married Sharon Brown, making their home in Spavinaw. He was a member of the Spavinaw Hills House of Worship there. Murle enjoyed playing music, his dogs, and especially playing music with his friends at Sandusky's. He always enjoyed spending time with his family and friends. He will be so very missed by all who knew and loved him. Funeral Services for Murle will be held on Tuesday, November 15, 2011 at 2 p.m. in the Shipman's Funeral Chapel with Reverend Tobe Perry officiating. Interment will follow in the Ross-Mayes Cemetery at Salina, Oklahoma. The family will receive friends and family at the funeral home from 6-8 p.m. on Monday. Puryear of California and Brenda Ellen of California; many other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, James and Debbie Puryear; one brother, Emory D. Puryear.
