Ernest Fox

Ernest Lee Fox, 70, of Pryor, passed away on Friday, March 30, 2018 in Claremore, Oklahoma. He was born on July 17, 1947 in Stockton, California; the son of Leland L. and Faye L. (Powders) Fox. Ernest faithfully served his country in the United States Army, serving on the DMZ Zone, South Korea. He was honorably discharged on February 10, 1969, and on July 18, 1969, married the love of his life, Laura Taylor. He went to work as a welder most of his life, and enjoyed fishing, hunting and playing poker. Ernest was a loving husband, father and grandfather who will be missed by all who knew and loved him.

Visitation will be held from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m., Friday, April 6, 2018 in the Shipman's Funeral Home Chapel in Pryor. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to the Recreation and Christmas Fund at the Claremore Veterans Center. Ernest is survived by his wife, Laura Fox of the home; daughter, Melissa Roberts and husband Chris; son, Brent Fox and wife Alison; grandchildren, Dalton, Caitlyn, and Bailey; brothers, Stanley Fox and wife Pam and Ronnie Fox and wife Donna; brother in law, Robert Taylor and wife Tracey; sister in law, Beverly Taylor, Elizabeth Smith and husband Eric and sister in law, Mary Kleist; and many other relatives and friends. He is preceded in death by his parents, Leland and Fay Fox; grandparents, Huey and Lela Fox and Oscar and Inez Powder; and father and mother in law, Jack and Robbie Taylor.
