Ervin Fischgrabe

Ervin Rubin Fischgrabe passed his earthly life on Tuesday, March 26, 2013 at 89 years of age. He passed into eternal life to his Heavenly Father; Lord Savior Jesus Christ, baptized and filled with His Holy Spirit. He passed in Muskogee, Oklahoma, the place where he had lived and shared his life with his wife, of 63 years, LuRita Mae (Ingersoll). He was born March 5, 1924, eldest of three children and only son to Anna (Leonard) and Charles Fischgrabe in Coppers Cove, Texas. He was born and raised on their family farm in the Kileen and Ft. Hood areas. He a WWII Veteran who served 1943-1946 as a U.S. Navy Corpsman, Seaman 1st Class, on an aircraft carrier at Pearl Harbor. He was honorably discharged in 1946. He returned to Texas where he completed Nurses training at Scott and White Hospital, Temple, Texas. He met his wife, who was a nursing student there and they were married in Texas in 1950. He then transferred to Muskogee, Oklahoma as a Surgical Technician for the Veteran's Administration Hospital. He retired from the V.A. with 30 years of service in 1979. A Celebration of his life will be held on Monday, April 1, 2013 at 2 p.m. in the Muskogee United Pentecostal Church. A graveside service was held at 11 a.m. Monday, April 1, 2013 in the Ross-Mayes Cemetery in Salina, Oklahoma. Memorials may be made to the Muskogee United Pentecostal Church in his memory. He is preceded in death by his parents, Charles and Anna Fischgrabe. He is survived by his wife of 63 years, LuRita (Ingersoll) of Muskogee, OK; his daughter, Rebecca E. Gale and son-in-law, Charles of Owasso, OK; one granddaughter, Adria Elizabeth Cantrell of Owasso, OK; two sisters, Doris Thomson (Tommy) of Landrum, SC and Alice Boyd (Al) of Orange Valley, CA; two nieces, Ann Thomson-Bowden and Bonnie Boyd, and two nephews, Jimmy Thomson and Bobby Boyd; He leaves a large family by marriage, two sisters-in-law, Marcella (Ivory) Jones of Broken Arrow, OK and Agnes Holt of Pryor, OK; two brothers-in-law, Joe (Bob) Ingersoll of Pryor, OK and Herbert (Betty) Ingersoll of CO and many nieces, nephews and extended family.
