Ervin Thompson

Ervin Earl Thompson, of Coweta, went to be at home with the Lord on Tuesday, September 10, 2019 in Tulsa, surrounded by his family. He was born on August 23, 1955 in Broken Arrow OK; the son of John Charles and Lois F. (Shields) Thompson. Ervin married the love of his life, Rhonda Holmes, June 6, 1975 in Broken Arrow, OK. He worked as a frame carpenter most of his life. Ervin was a wonderful husband, father, and Papa. He cherished all the moments with 15 grandchildren and 2 great grandchildren. Ervin loved to take his babies out to the pasture for big fires, tractor rides, feeding cows, and exploring. He enjoyed the outdoors with his family, especially fishing. They also enjoyed water and snow skiing, camping, and gardening together. He loved to work on things with the kids. He was a member of House of Prayer in Tulsa. He leaves behind many memories and will be missed by all who knew and loved him.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m., Friday, September 13, 2019 in the House of Prayer in Tulsa with Brother Bill Parks officiating. Burial will follow in the Vernon Cemetery in Coweta with Gabe Gilbert, John Thompson, Micheal Stubbs, AJ Stubbs, Jason Terry, and Sam Thompson serving as casket bearers. Honorary casket bearers will be Jordan Cate, Jake Thompson, Ethan Thompson, Blake Thompson, Rylan Thompson, Ashten Terry, Noah Thompson, Pete Hash and Peewee Renfro. Visitation will be held from 6:00 p.m., until 8:00 p.m., Thursday, September 12, 2019 in the House of Prayer in Tulsa. Ervin is survived by his wife, Rhonda Thompson of the home; sons, Jeremy Thompson and wife Jennifer of Coweta, Oklahoma, Aaron Thompson and wife Stormey of Coweta, Oklahoma, and Sam Thompson of the home; daughters, Mamie Cate and husband Chad of Collinsville, Oklahoma, Ashley Terry and husband Brent of Coweta, Oklahoma, and Lacy Thompson of Coweta, Oklahoma; brother, Wayne Thompson and wife Susan of West Plains, Missouri; sister in law, Pat Thompson of Inola, Oklahoma; 15 grandchildren, Tiffany Woolsey and husband Dillon, Gabe Gilbert and wife Courtney, Jordan Cate, John Thompson, Micheal Stubbs, AJ Stubbs, Jason Terry, Jake Thompson, Ethan Thompson, Blake Thompson, Rylan Thompson, Chesney Thompson, Ashten Terry, Noah Thompson, Lily Terry, and Maxim Gilbert; 2 great grandchildren, Dawson and Tanner Woolsey; step mother, Joyce Thompson of Broken Arrow, Oklahoma; 3 step sisters, Treba Hudson and husband Danny of Broken Arrow, Oklahoma, Marlena Perry and husband Randy of Sapulpa, Oklahoma and Lisa Rogers of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma; and a host of nieces and nephews and cousins. He is preceded in death by his parents, Charles and Lois Thompson, son, Jonathan Totman; brother, Curtis Thompson and sisters, Snookie Rankin, Emily Sutton, and Neta Ruth Walker.
