Ethel Walsh

Ethel Walsh, 85, passed away on March 7, 2016 at her home in Chouteau, Oklahoma. The daughter of Alfred and Laura Couch, she was born in Asher, Arkansas on April 15, 1930. She was 5 years of age when she and her family moved to Chouteau, where she grew up and attended school. She and Ted Walsh were united in marriage on August 15, 1948 in Chouteau. Shortly after their marriage, they moved to Tulsa where Ted was employed. In 1969 they moved back to Chouteau where they still live. Ethel was a member of the First Baptist Church in Chouteau. She was employed at Fabricut for 6 years or more, but at heart was a homemaker and loved to be around when her nieces and nephews who were so nice came to visit her home. She loved being with her husband Ted. Her hobbies included going to the Senior Citizens Center everyday to play cards and visit with her friends. Ethel was a lovely lady who will be so very missed by all who knew and loved her. Funeral Services will be held at 10:00 a.m., Thursday, March 10, 2016, in the Chouteau First Baptist Church with Reverend Tom Landsaw officiating. Burial will follow in the Chouteau North Cemetery with Loyd Couch, David Couch, Justin Couch, Glen Couch, Jerry Couch and Randy Walsh serving as casket bearers. The family will receive friends in the Chouteau - Shipman's Funeral Home from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m., on Wednesday, March 9, 2016. She is survived by her husband, Ted Walsh of the home; one grandson and wife, Chad and Kellie Walsh, of Missouri; 2 great grandson, Gillette Walsh and Gunner Walsh of Missouri; brother and wife, A.C. and Norma Couch of Chouteau, OK; several nieces and nephews, other relatives and many friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, Alfred and Laura Couch; sons, Terry Lee Walsh and Larry Gene Walsh; brothers, Oris Couch, Ewell Couch and Marvin Ray Couch; sisters, Pauline Cross, Reba Neighbor, Lorene Martin and Hazel Edens.
