Evelyn Jane Jumper

Evelyn Jane (Hair) Jumper, 61, of Spavinaw, passed from this life on Tuesday, January 24, 2023, at her home. She was born on March 24, 1961, in Claremore, Oklahoma, to Dave and Mary Jane (Davis) Hair. Evelyn was raised and lived in the Spavinaw area all her life. She always looked forward to attending church services and enjoyed singing along with the worship music.  Evelyn loved to spend time outdoors, especially when she was able to help her husband by picking up sticks while he mowed and tended to the yard. She centered her life around her family and never missed an opportunity to attend a family gathering, dinner, and to take care of her grandchildren. Cooking, making frybread, and drinking sweet tea was some of her favorite things. Evelyn also enjoyed playing puzzle jewels on her phone, reading her Bible, and studying God’s word. Evelyn was the Church secretary and WMU leaders, as well the song leader and taught Sunday School for many years. She had a heart for people and was loving and kind.  Evelyn never met a stranger and could strike up a conversation with anyone. She truly had a heart for people and loved to visit with her friends and family. She was a wonderful wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, sister, and friend and leaves behind many memories for her family to cherish.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m., Thursday, February 2, 2023, in the Ribbon Baptist Church in Spavinaw with Reverend Cullus Buck officiating. Burial will follow in the Jack Ribbon Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m., Sunday, January 29, 2023, at Shipman’s Funeral Home in Pryor. Evelyn is survived by her husband, Johnny Jumper, Sr. of the home; sons, Johnny Jumper, Jr. of Spavinaw, Oklahoma and Josh Jumper of Pryor, Oklahoma; daughters, Elaine Jumper of Tulsa, Oklahoma and Ellen Quick and husband Jake of Spavinaw, Oklahoma; brothers, James Hair of Verdigris, Oklahoma and Leland Hair of Houston, Texas; 11 grandchildren and 9 great grandchildren; and many other relatives and friends. She is preceded in death by her parents, Dave and Mary Hair; brother, Leroy Hair, grandson, Brandon Jumper; and her aunts and uncles.
