Evelyn Walsh

Evelyn Walsh, 84, of Mazie, Oklahoma, passed away on Monday, January 12, 2015 in Tulsa, Oklahoma. She was born on May 27, 1930 in Mazie, Oklahoma, the daughter of Robert Henson and Jenny (Parker) Henson. Evelyn married Everett Walsh on May 11, 1948 in Fort Smith, Arkansas and has celebrated over 66 years together. She worked as school secretary for the Tulsa Public Schools while living there, coming to Mazie in 1985. She worked in the Mazie Election Board. Evelyn enjoyed sewing, especially quilting. She enjoyed times with her family camping at Cookson Bend, and fishing. Evelyn enjoyed playing pinochle with friends and family. She was a lovely lady of faith, and had been a part of the Springdale Baptist Church, Calvary Baptist Church and at present was a member of the Mazie Baptist Church. She will be so very missed by all who knew and loved her. Funeral Services will be held on Thursday, January15, 2015 at 2 p.m. in the First Baptist Church of Mazie with Reverend Jess Dinsmore officiating. Interment will follow in the Chouteau North Cemetery with Dustin Walsh, Timothy Walsh, Jesse Lehrman, Eric Lehrman and Matt Dunnery serving as casket bearers. The family will receive friends at the Shipman's Funeral Chapel in Chouteau at 201 N. Main Street from 6-8 p.m. on Wednesday evening. She is survived by her husband, Everett Walsh of the home; her children, David and wife, Sally Walsh of Pomona, KS and Koni and husband, Greg Lehrman of Broken Arrow, OK; five grandchildren and five great grandchildren; many other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, Robert and Jenny Henson; 1 brother, James and 1 sister, Pauline.
