Frances Irene DeNoon was born on May 28, 1936 in a little cabin near Welda, Kansas to Albert Keith and Gladys Margaret (Rook) Finkenbinder. She left this world on Saturday, November 14, 2015 to live with her heavenly father. Fran accepted Jesus Christ as her personal savior at age 13 and was baptized at Bush City Baptist Church. Fran came from a musical family and when asked, she would play the pump organ for church worship services. Little Frances attended first grade in Kincaid, Kansas. Her family advanced to a farm near Bush City so she attended second and third grades at Round Oak Country School, which was a one room school with 8 grades and one teacher. When she advanced to 4th grade, she took the bus to Irving Grade School in Garnett, Kansas, where she attended until; 8th grade graduation. Frances graduated from Garnett High School in 1954. She went on to study at Emporia State Teachers College. In 1956, Frances married Norman Keith Ward. God blessed their union with four children, Steven, Sharon, Russ, and Cynthia. During the children's youth, Frances sang in a gospel trio, the Gospelettes, which traveled the Midwest supporting revival services. She also directed the church choir at the First Baptist Church of Garnett, Kansas. Frances was multi - talented and a hard worker. As a young mother, she taught music for two years in a 2 room school house for grades 1-6 in Bush City. She worked in three sewing factories and sewed for several families including her own. Fran, her husband, and their kids set grain bins in Anderson County, Kansas in support of her husband's business. She and her family loved camping and water skiing and traveled extensively in a repurposed, rebuilt, potato chip truck turned RC that pulled the ski boat. Fran furthered her education by studying accounting, specializing in payroll at Clark's school of business in Topeka, Kansas in 1977. Later, her career took her to Kansas City, where she met and married Glenn DeNoon in 1986. Glenn taught Fran his Shaklee business, which she maintained until her death. Fran retired from bookkeeping and moved to Oklahoma in 2001. She loved Oklahoma and she would tell you she spent the happiest year of her life right here on Hudson Lake with all the wonderful friends she had made. She leaves behind many friends and cherished memories and will be missed by all those who knew and loved her. Fran is preceded in death by her husband, Glenn DeNoon; her parents, Keith and Margie Finkenbinder; and her brother, Dale Finkenbinder. She is survived by her children, son, Steve and Laurie Ward of Kansas City, Missouri and their daughter, Nicole Ward Buckley of Prairie Village, Kansas and her son Charlie; daughter, Shari and Paul Winfrey, Sr. of Olathe, Kansas and their children, Paul Winfrey, Jr., and Amy of Sunrise beach, Missouri and their sons, Caesar, Thomas, Christopher and Jaxton; Joseph Winfrey of Shawnee, Kansas and his son, Joey; Beth and Jeffrey Reavis of Shawnee, Kansas and their daughter, Gabby; son, Russ Ward of Huntsville, Texas; daughter, Cindy and George Staten of Beloit, Kansas and their children, Jonathan Staten and Courtney of Great Bend, Kansas and their children, Jason and Skye; Jasmine Staten of Greenleaf, Kansas; sister, Jeanette and Ray Arnett of Garnett, Kansas and family; aunt, Lola Bell Adams of Mound City, Kansas; step mother, Mary Adams Finkenbinder; sister in law, Kathy Adams Finkenbinder and family; as well as her cat Gyspy; and many other relatives and friends.
