Frankie Kirkland

Frankie Lee Kirkland, 57, of Pryor, Oklahoma, passed away on Thursday, January 26, 2012 at his home. Frankie was born on January 15, 1955 in Hamlin, Texas, the son of George Washington Kirkland Sr. and Mary Elizabeth (Louflin) Kirkland. He worked in the oilfields and as a truck driver. He married Rebecca J. Welch on February 25, 1976 in Hamlin, Texas. They have made their lives together raising a family every since. Frankie enjoyed fishing and being outdoors in his garden. He enjoyed animals and going grocery shopping looking for bargains. He especially loved his family and spending time with them. Frankie was a loving family man who was loved by all who knew him. Funeral Services will be held on Monday, January 30, 2012 at 2 p.m., in the Shipman's Funeral Chapel with Chaplin Jack Taylor officiating. Interment will be in the Bryan Chapel Cemetery at Boatman, Oklahoma. The family will receive friends and family at the funeral home on Sunday from 3-5 p.m. Visitation will be from 10 a.m. until 5 p.m. Saturday and 1-5 p.m. on Sunday. Frankie is survived by his wife, Becky of the home; one daughter, Christina and husband, Ricky Smith of Pryor, OK; two sons, Robbie Kirkland of Pryor, OK and Scott Kirkland and wife, Tabitha of Winters, TX; his grandchildren, Ashley Nicole Smith, Brittney Leann Smith and Anthony New; his sisters, Alta Isabelle Kirkland of Abilene, TX, Nancy Hughes of Wagoner; his brothers, Marvin Kirkland of Hamlin, TX and George Kirkland of Hamlin, TX; his first wife, Jennifer Collins of Winters, TX; many other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, George Sr. and Mary Kirkland; one sister, Wilma Kirkland; one sister-in-law, Linda Kirkland.
