Freddie McCombs

Freddie Lee McCombs, 76, of Locust Grove, passed away on Wednesday, August 23, 2017 in Broken Arrow. He was born on January 8, 1941 at his home on Johnson Ranch near Claremore. He worked most of his life at Darling Ingredients as a cook and machine operator. He faithfully served his country in the National Guard and was a member of the American Legion. Freddie loved to be outdoors, especially when he was mowing his grass, going fishing, or riding his golf cart. He would look forward to family gatherings and spending time with his grandchildren. Freddie also had a special love his 3 dogs, Tinkerbell, Susie Q, and Mega. He leaves behind many wonderful memories and will be missed by all who knew and loved him.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m., Monday, August 28, 2017 in the Pleasant View Baptist Church in Pryor with Reverend Terry Wilson officiating. Burial will follow in the Adair Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m., Sunday, August 27, 2017 in the Shipman's Funeral Home Chapel in Pryor. Freddie is survived by his sons, Freddie McCombs, Jr. and Peggi Harris of Tulsa, Oklahoma, Benny McCombs and Angie Lamar of Collinsville, Oklahoma, Van Hamilton and wife Jessica of Sand Springs, Oklahoma, and Allen McCombs of Tulsa, Oklahoma; daughters, Tammy Vance and Jerad Wilson of Chouteau, Oklahoma, Diana Sisseck of Tulsa, Oklahoma and Doris Lawson and husband Tim of Haskell, Oklahoma; brother, Carl McCombs of Chelsea, Oklahoma; sisters, Linda Hamilton of Chelsea, Oklahoma, Wanda McCombs of Chelsea, Oklahoma, and Patsy Hartley and husband Ken of Arkansas; 14 grandchildren and 24 great grandchildren; girlfriend Ida Mathews; and many other relatives and friends. He is preceded in death by his parents, Eshmal and Thelma (Guess) McCombs; brother, Bobby McCombs, and sister, Daisy Taylor.
