Galis Kay Cunningham

Galis Kay Cunningham, born on February 20, 1958, in Pryor, Oklahoma, passed away on Thursday, March 13, 2025, in Tulsa, Oklahoma.

Galis dedicated many years to serving as a nurse's aide in various nursing homes, where she provided compassionate care to those in need. Her nurturing spirit extended beyond her professional life; she found great joy in watching Tyler Perry movies and was deeply devoted to her family. Galis’s faith played a significant role in her life, and she treasured the time spent in church, drawing strength and comfort from her beliefs.

She is survived by her lifelong companion, Estol Cunningham of Pryor, OK; her son, Jesse Tripp, also of Pryor; her daughter, Helen Garner and her husband Curtis of Pryor, OK; her brother, Jimmy Owens and his wife Bonnie of Braggs, OK; and her sisters, Linda Kilgore of Pryor, and Marilynn McGrory. Galis's legacy continues through her granddaughter, Laura Cunningham; her great niece, Amber Lincoln; and her beloved bubbo, Kadin. In addition, she leaves behind six grandchildren and two great-grandchildren, who were an immense source of joy in her life.

Galis is preceded in death by her parents, Jim and Myrtle Owens; her brother, John Owens; her sisters, Sandra Gann and Patsy Hughes; her stepdaughter, Becky; her nephew, Chris; as well as her granddaughter, Shey, and grandson, Alex.

The loving memories of Galis Kay Cunningham will forever reside in the hearts of her family and friends, and she will be deeply missed by all who knew her.
