Gary Wendell Calvert, 83, of Adair, passed away on Monday, December 17, 2018 at his home in Adair. He was born on July 12, 1935 in Adair; the son of Leonard Orville and Blanch (Wright) Calvert. Gary married his love, Sally, on August 21, 1954 in Adair and were married 62 years, until her passing in 2016. He loved traveling and going fishing with Sally. Gary also looked forward to going the casino. He worked for the Pryor Foundry and retired from there after many years of dedicated work. He loved to spend time with his children and grandchildren and leaves behind many memories for his family to remember.
Graveside services will be held at 11:00 a.m., Friday, December 21, 2018 in the Adair Cemetery in Adair, Oklahoma. Honorary casket bearers will be River Calvert, Gray Wolf Calvert, Kyle Calvert, Karson Calvert, Matt Calvert, Caleb Calvert, Chad Calvert, Heidi Calvert and Meghan Dodson. Visitation will be held from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m., Thursday, December 20, 2018 in the Shipman’s Funeral Home Chapel. Gary is survived by his sons, Lloyd Calvert and wife Vickie of Coweta, Oklahoma, Greg Calvert and wife Mary Jane of Langley, Oklahoma, and Gary Calvert and wife Robin of Ketchum, Oklahoma; sisters, Carol Jane Schooley and husband Earl of Adair, Oklahoma, Linda Sue Wheeler of Pryor, Oklahoma, and Connie Welker and husband Dennis of Dawes, Oklahoma; 9 grandchildren and 17 great grandchildren. He is preceded in death by his parents, Leonard and Blanch Calvert, wife, Sally Calvert, brother, Billy George; and grandson, Mitchell Calvert.
