Gary Parks

Gary Wayne Parks, 49, of Jennings, Oklahoma, passed away on Monday, June 6, 2011 in Okmulgee, Oklahoma. Gary was born on November 28, 1961 in Broken Arrow, Oklahoma, the son of Floyd and Alveta (Anderson) Parks. He was a carpenter by trade, also working for Midwest Portable Buildings for over 20 years. He married Mary Dowty on December 30, 1983 in the Burnett Mission in Paden, Oklahoma. Gary enjoyed being outdoors fishing and hunting. He was definitely a people person with his fun loving personality. He never met a stranger. Gary loved spending time with grandchildren. He will be so very missed by all who knew and loved him. Funeral Services will be held on Friday, June 10, 2011 at 1:00 p.m., in the Westside Holiness Church in Claremore, Oklahoma with Reverend Tracy Boyd and Reverend Gary Edenfield officiating. Interment will be in the Dawes Cemetery at Chelsea, Oklahoma. Gary is survived by his wife, Mary of the home; his children, Dustin Parks and wife, Bridget of Sapulpa, OK, Deric Parks of Jennings, OK and April Rogers and husband, Justin of Pryor, OK; his parents, Floyd and Alveta Parks of Jay, OK; his brother, Bill Parks and wife, Melanie of Catoosa, OK; his sister, Nancy and husband, Gary Edenfield of Elkton, VA; his grandchildren, Justin Adam, Trevor and Chase Rogers. He was preceded in death by his grandparents; his father-in-law, Charles Dowty and brother-in-law, James McDaniels.
