George Ben Sanders

George Ben (GB) Sanders, 86, of Salina, Oklahoma, passed this life on Tuesday, November 1, 2022 in Muskogee, Oklahoma.  GB was born on February 22, 1936 in Chelsea, Oklahoma, the son of Nathan P. Sanders and Claire Alice (Austin) Sanders.  He faithfully served his Country in the United States Army.  GB was a lifelong resident of Mayes County and enjoyed living in and supporting the Salina area.  He enjoyed tinkering with old cars and spending time with his nieces and nephews.  GB will be so very missed by his family and friends.

A graveside service will be held on Friday, November 4, 2022 at 10 a.m. in the Ross-Mayes Cemetery in Salina, Oklahoma.  His family will receive friends at the funeral home on the West end from 6-8 p.m. on Thursday evening.  To leave his family a personal message please see his Tribute at shipmansfuneralhome.com.  Arrangements are under the direction of Shipman’s Funeral & Cremation Service. 

He is survived by his brothers, Roy Sanders and wife, Ava of Owasso, OK and Ray Sanders and wife, Patricia of Salina, OK; sisters, Imogene Stafford and husband, Bob of Locust Grove, OK, Betty Stilley and husband, Cullus Stilley of Spavinaw, OK; numerous nieces and nephews.  He was preceded in death by his parents, Nathan and Claire Sanders; brothers, (twins) Albert and Elbert, Junior Sanders and Howard Sanders; sister, Jerry Arthur.
