Gerald Smith

Gerald Lynn Smith, 81, of Pryor, passed away on Friday, June 19, 2015 in Claremore, Oklahoma. He was born on February 3, 1934 in Seminole, Oklahoma; the son of Paul C. and Florence (Wallen) Smith. Gerald enlisted into the Navy on November 1, 1958 in Seminole. He went on from the Navy and received his Doctorate and was a professor at University of Tulsa, teaching what he loved, Electrical Engineering. Gerald also worked as an Engineer for Boeing for many years. Gerald became a private pilot, which was his favorite hobby, and looked forward to spending his free time flying and working on airplanes. He was hardworking, smart, strong, and loving. Gerald loved his family and was deeply devoted to all of them. He leaves behind many memories and will be missed by all who knew and loved him. Gerald is survived by his daughter, Jyrlyn and husband Jim Greene of Pryor, Oklahoma; 3 grandchildren, Brandon Roper, Kammi Greene and Chris Anderson, and Tate Wallis and husband Josh; 3 great grandchildren, Landon Roper, Wyatt Stallings and Taylor Wallis; 2 nephews, Scott Smith and Cliff Smith; extended family, Eric and Nellie Greene of Tulsa, Oklahoma and Jim and Pat Greene of Hot Springs, Arkansas; many other relatives and friends. He is preceded in death by his parents, Paul and Florence Smith and his brothers, Paul Smith, Jr. and Ronald Smith.
