Glenda Darlene Rogers

Glenda "Darlene" Rogers, 79 years old, passed away on January 3, 2024. Darlene was born in Squires, Missouri on May 17, 1944 to Glen and Eva Turner. She graduated from Ava High School in 1962 and began her career with the Missouri Health Department. This was the beginning of her life - long career as an IT analyst for various organizations over the next 35 years. Darlene married the love of her life, Buck Rogers, on their birthday, May 17. They shared 58 birthdays and anniversaries together. Darlene was known as the quiet one, with many talents. She enjoyed baking, sewing, crafts, cross stitch, crochet and fixing computers. She loved helping others, and their door was always open for those who needed extra support or to have some fun. Many friends and family lived with her and Buck through the years. As she aged, Darlene enjoyed listening to gospel music and watching sermons on TV. She had a servant's heart.

Darlene is survived by her daughter, Lyn Willhoite; granddaughter, Kathryn Willhoite; grandson, Michael Willhoite and wife Blair, and her pride and joy, great grandson, Hudson Willhoite; her brothers, Paul Turner and wife Ginger, Dale Turner and wife Sharon, Donis Turner and sister, Elois Hancock. She also has numerous nieces, nephews, famiyl and friends on both the Turner and Rogers side that she leaves behind. Darlene is preceded in death by her father and mother, husband, Buck, sisters, Liz, Brenda, and Joyce. She was dearly loved and will be greatly missed.

Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m., Thursday, January 11, 2024 in the Shipman's Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Junior Mullin officiating. Burial will follow in the Ross - Mayes Cemetery with Darrell Johnson, Brody Johnson, Glen Turner, Lyn Turner, Shane Turner and Michael Willhoite serving as casket bearers. Visitation will be held from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m., Wednesday, January 10, 2024 at Shipman's Funeral Home in Pryor.
