Gwendolyn "Gwen" Barrett

Gwendolyn “Gwen” Louise Barrett, 74, of Pryor, went to be with her Lord and Savior Wednesday, August 18, 2021 in Tulsa, Oklahoma. She was born on April 2, 1947 in California; the daughter of William Jess Reed and Zelma Etta (Thompson) Reed. Gwen married the love of her life, Leroy, on October 22, 1971, at the Chouteau First Assembly of God and they were married nearly 50 years. She worked as a custodian for Pryor Public Schools for many years and retired from there. Gwen and Leroy were active members of the North Elliott Church of God and more recently The First Freewill Baptist Church. In their younger years, they attended Christ Ambassador rallies as well. They also were active members of the DAV Chapter 43. Gwen loved going on church trips to Branson, and above all, spending time with her family. She was a loving wife, mother, and grandmother who leaves behind many wonderful memories for her family to cherish.

Services for Gwen will be held a 2:00 p.m., Tuesday, August 24, 2021, at First Free Will Baptist Church in Pryor, Oklahoma with Reverend Rusty Harrison officiating. Gwen is survived by her husband, Leroy, of the home; daughters, Karen Smith of Pryor and Janetta Gunter and husband Conrad of Pryor; brother, Bud Reed and wife Jean of Tulsa; and grandchildren, Sarah Smith, Jacob Smith, Blake Gunter, and Mariah Gunter. She is preceded in death by her parents, William and Zelma; and son in law, Michael Smith.
