Harold Pilant

Harold Dean Pilant, 74, of Chouteau, Oklahoma, passed away on Tuesday, December 17, 2013 in Austin, Arkansas. He was born on August 31, 1939 in Locust Grove, Oklahoma, the son of Elmer Pilant and Polly (Howell) Pilant. Harold served his Country in the United States Army, retiring from the military after 20 years of faithful service. He married Stephanie King on July 31, 1993 in Pryor, Oklahoma. Harold was a member of the Pleasant View Baptist Church. He loved to drive race cars in younger years. He volunteered for the Veteran's Hospital in Muskogee, Oklahoma. Harold was a loving husband, father and grandfather who leaves behind the love of God, Country and Family for his family to follow. Funeral Services for Harold will be held on Monday, December 23, 2013 in the Pleasant View Baptist Church with his brother, Reverend Jerold Pilant officiating. Interment will follow in the Hogan Cemetery with Brendan Clark, Patrick Pilant, Kevin Pilant, James Clark, Michael Pilant Jr., and Steven Pilant serving as casket bearers. He is survived by his wife, Stephanie Pilant; his children, Randy Lee Pilant of Afghanistan and his fiancé Nicole Cooper of Nevada, Michael Ray Pilant of Broken Bow, OK, Alan Dean Pilant of Pryor, OK, Paul King of New Zealand, Karen Christine Pilant of Hugo, OK, Quandi Marie Clark and husband, Randy Lee of Austin, AR, Melissa King-Joles and husband, Serge of New York; brothers, Leon Pilant and wife, Sharon of Salina, OK, Bob Pilant and wife, Sue of Independence, MO, Richard Pilant and wife, Cathy of New Mexico and Jerold Pilant and wife, Linda of Pryor, OK; sisters, Velda Dennis of Pryor, OK, Ruby Haley and husband, Ron of Chouteau, OK, Velma Echols of Colorado, Wanda Milligan and husband, Roland of Missouri; twelve grandchildren and 2 great grandchildren; many other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his first wife, Georgia Lee Pilant; a daughter, Robin Pilant; a brother, Billy Pilant and a sister, Lavaughn Driscoll; two step grandchildren, Keith Harjo and Renee Harjo.
