Harry Floyd

Harry Dean Floyd, 68, of Adair, passed away on Saturday, December 31, 2016 at his home. He was born on November 17, 1948 in Pryor; the son of Carl "Sam" Madison and Helen Floyd. He attended Oklahoma State University and earned a Bachelor Degree in Zoology. He married Sandy Bradley on October 2, 1985 in Miami, Oklahoma. He has lived in the Mayes County area his entire life and worked for many years and retired from Ralston Purina. Harry enjoyed the outdoors, going arrowhead hunting and animals of all kinds. He worked in Wildlife Management at Glacier National Park in Montana for several years in the summer, and loved being in the mountains and all the scenery surrounding them. Harry looked forward to playing with his grandchildren and spending time with those he loved most. Harry was a wonderful father and grandfather and will be missed dearly by all his family and friends

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m., Friday, January 6, 2017 in the Pleasant Hope Baptist Church in Adair with Brother Eddy Mathews officiating. Burial will follow in the Adair Cemetery with Roy Hamill, Jay Dee Murphy, James Eastin, Jessie Floyd, Ricky Bohnert, Art Robbins, and Richard Beetz serving as casket bearers. Visitation will be held from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m., Thursday, January 5, 2017 in the Shipman's Funeral Home Chapel in Pryor. Harry is survived by his wife, Sandy Floyd of the home; daughters, Nikki Dennis and husband Doug of Sapulpa, Oklahoma, Chasity Mitchell and fiancé Jacob Hayes of White Oak, Oklahoma, Samantha Floyd of Adair, Oklahoma, and Sonya Floyd of Pryor, Oklahoma; brother, Carl Floyd and wife Mary Ellen of Big Cabin, Oklahoma; sister, Joyce Bohnert and husband Charlie of Fenton, Missouri; 8 grandchildren; and many other relatives and friends. He is preceded in death by his parents, Sam and Helen Floyd; brother, Lee Roy Floyd and nephew Chris Floyd.
