Hazel Gilpin

Hazel Merie Gilpin, 61, of Big Cabin, Oklahoma, passed away on Monday, May 21, 2018 at her home. She was born on August 5, 1956 in Littlefield, Texas, the daughter of Norman Ray Thomas and Nannie Lee (Tatum) Thomas. She married Danny Gilpin on March 18, 1972 in the First Baptist Church in Pensacola, Oklahoma and had celebrated 46 years together. Hazel owned and operated Cabin Creek Kennels. She enjoyed dogs and caring for them. Hazel enjoyed fishing and being outdoors growing her flowers. She enjoyed quilting, but most of all she loved the time spent with her family and those beautiful grandchildren. Hazel leaves behind wonderful memories for her family and friends to cherish.

Funeral Services will be held on Friday, May 25, 2018 at 2 p.m. in the Shipman's Funeral Chapel in Pryor, Oklahoma with Pastor Wayne Thomas officiating. Interment will be in the Ghormley Cemetery at Pensacola, Oklahoma with Jeremy Bales, Tristan Dilldine, Jeremy Gilpin, Bass Conseen, Les Ziebarth, Daniel George serving as casket bearers. Honorary casket bearers will be Richard Stobaugh and Brady Gilpin. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 6-8 p.m. on Thursday evening. Hazel is survived by her husband, Danny of the home; her daughters, Melissa Dilldine and husband, Kevin of Pensacola, OK, Tabatha George of Pensacola, OK, Samantha Sartors of Pensacola, OK and Rita Spellins of Tennessee; her brothers, Dale Thomas of Sallisaw, OK and Manuel Thomas of Paris, TX; her sister, Norma Davis of Wichita, KS; her grandchildren, Traci Dru, Jacob Dilldine, Tristan Dilldine, Angel Gilpin, Seanathon Sartors and Hayden Gilpin; many other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, Norman Ray and Nannie Lee Thomas; one brother, Harlan Wayne Thomas; four sisters, Ruth Mae Sharp, Kathaleen Cooper, Sharon Kay Gilbert and Jimmie Ray Schoore.
