Helen Grace Thornton was born July 26, 1930 in Hominy, Oklahoma to Zella (Ward) Burchett and Fred Burchett. Being the last of 8 siblings, Helen was always surrounded by family who loved her. She attended Hominy schools, graduating with the class of 1949. She married her "Blue eyed Indian" Royal on January 7, 1950. They raised their family in Dewey, Oklahoma. Helen was always active with her "girls", Sandee, Patti, and Robin and figuring out how to make a dollar stretch. One of her proudest achievements was earning her real estate license and selling real estate in the Bartlesville area. After the tragic loss of her middle daughter "Patti", they moved to Bartlesville where she and Royal lived until his death in 2009. The past two years she has lived in Pryor, Oklahoma to be closer to family. Helen was never extremely outgoing, but will always be remembered for her giving, sweet nature. Proceeded in death by all her siblings, with the exception of a sister Nellie Davis and family of Tulsa. Survived by her daughters Sandee Bill Rasnic of Pryor, Robin Thornton Marty Pfile of Houston, Texas, her one granddaughter, who was the light of her life, Jackie Rasnic Michael Pogue of Norman, Oklahoma and the latest addition, her great granddaughter Audrey June that she referred to as her sweet baby June. Helen will be missed always, loving her family, friends and acquaintances unconditionally. She as her husband Royal donated their bodies to the OU School of Medicine. Private Family services were held.
