Henrietta M. Wood ~ Miller 84, of Pryor passed away August 21st, 2016 in Tulsa, Oklahoma. She was born on October 7th, 1931 in Buckeye School District in Oklahoma the daughter of Clyde and Melvina (Rusco) Gear. On October 8th, 1949 at the age of 18, she married Charles Wood in Olive, Oklahoma. In 1962 they moved to Pryor, Oklahoma where she owned and operated MiLady's Beauty Salon until 1969 when she opened Henrietta's House of Beauty in her home. The following year she went to work for Whitaker State Children's Home teaching cosmetology. After the home closed, the cosmetology school she went to work for the Department of Human Services in the Whitaker office. After Whitaker State Children's Home closed she continued to work for DHS in the Pryor and Claremore offices. After her retirement in the early 90's she went to work Key Funeral Home for 22 years and Shipman's Funeral Home. On February 11, 1995 she married Robert Miller. She was a member of Heritage Southern Baptist Church where she was a long time dedicated Sunday School teacher. She enjoyed all of her family but her grandchildren, great & great great grandchildren were her pride and joy. Services will be held at Heritage Southern Baptist Church, Thursday August 25th at 2:00 P.M. Burial will follow in the Graham Memorial Cemetery with Charles Arrowsmith, James Arrowsmith, Ron King, Dylan Arrowsmith, Kelly Brown, and Michael Medders. Honorary casket bearers will be Jeff Turner, Kelly Medders, Jim Arrowsmith, Gene Smith, Marshall Ballard, Jim Turner, Larry Casey, and Dick Gregory. Visitation will be held from 6:00 p.m., until 8:00 p.m., on Wednesday, August 24, 2016 in the Shipman Funeral Home Chapel. She is survived by Daughter Danita and husband Jim Arrowsmith of Pryor, Oklahoma; Granddaughter Elizabeth and husband Ron King of Pryor, Oklahoma; Grandsons, James and wife Krystin Arrowsmith of Broken Arrow, Oklahoma and Charles and wife Jennifer Arrowsmith of Pryor, Oklahoma; 7 great grandchildren and 3 great great grandchildren; 3 Sisters, Mary Cartwright of Pryor, Oklahoma, Zola Oyster, Jacksonville, Florida and Vida "Pete" and husband Gene Smith of Pryor, Oklahoma; Brother Bill Gear of Edmond, Oklahoma; and a host of nieces and nephews; and special friend Lola Flint of Pryor, Oklahoma. She was preceded in death by her parents Clyde and Melvina Gear, her husband Charles Wood, second husband Robert Miller, 2 brothers and a sister.
