Henry Buxman, 90, of Pryor, passed away on Tuesday, November 24, 2015 at his home in Pryor. He was born on November 23, 1925 in Collinsville, Oklahoma to the late Henry and Louise Buxman. He faithfully serviced his country in the United States Army during World War II as a Tech Corporal. Henry worked as a supervisor, among many other jobs, at McDonald Douglas in Tulsa. He was also a self employed advertising specialist for Younger Advertising Service, working until his death. Henry gave his life to the Lord at the age of 36 and soon after become a deacon for the Eastwood Baptist Church in Tulsa for 25 years. After moving to Pryor, he started attending the Life Fellowship Church, where he also served as Deacon. Henry was a member of the DAV and was secretary for the Mayes County Gideons. He had been a member of the Gideons for over 21 years. On September 12, 2012, Henry and his good friend, Howard Reiser, were able to fly to Washington, D.C., on the Honor Flight and enjoyed the time spent seeing the WWII Monument and spending time with fellow veterans. He leaves behind many wonderful memories, and will be missed by all who knew and loved him. Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m., Monday, November 30, 2015 in the Life Fellowship Church. Burial will follow in the Floral Haven Cemetery with Howard Reiser, George Littleton, Van Carlyle, Thurman Hibbard, John Beaven and John Bagwell serving as casket bearers. Come and go visitation will be held from 12:00 p.m. until 5:00 p.m. on Friday, November 27, 2015 and from 1:00 p.m. until 5:00 p.m., Sunday, November 29, 2015 in the Shipman's Funeral Home Chapel. Henry is survived by his wife, Roberta Buxman of the home; daughter, Donna and Danny Smith of Tulsa, Oklahoma; step daughter, Bettena and Lindey Leforce of Vinita, Oklahoma; six grandchildren; one step grandson; one foster granddaughter; six great grandchildren; and one step great grandson; brother, John and Patty Buxman of Glenwood Springs, Colorado; and sister, Joan and Leon Ellis of Vancouver, Washington. He is preceded in death by his wives, Norma Buxman and Vivian Buxman and daughter, Karen Draper and his parents, Henry and Louise Buxman and 8 siblings.
