Hester

Hester Irene Osborn, 89, of Adair, passed away on Thursday, April 10, 2014 in Adair, Oklahoma. She was born on March 14, 1925 in Tunis, Missouri; the daughter of Jessie and Uva (Glanville) Watkins. Hester married Waid Osborn in February of 1943 and were married for 66 years. They moved to Adair in 1943 and made their home together. He preceded her in death on September 3, 2009. Hester worked at the Whitaker Children's Home and was a Den Mother for the Adair Cub Scouts. She also worked for the Shady Rest Care Center, Colonial Terrace Nursing Home and hung wall paper. She loved to attend Blue Grass festivals and listen to the music. She enjoyed being outdoors, especially when she was camping. Hester loved to sew and make tea towels, selling them for her "play money." She enjoyed being surrounded by those she loved and cherished each moment she had to spend with them. She will be remembered by all the wonderful memories she leaves behind and will be missed by all who knew and loved her. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m., April 15, 2014 in the Adair Methodist Church with Reverend Dylan Ward and Reverend Roger Miller officiating. Interment will be in the Spavinaw - Strang Cemetery with Eugene Osborn, Ray Osborn, Don Osborn, Todd Osborn, Chad Osborn, Zack Osborn and Tracy Osborn serving as casket bearers. Visitation will be held from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m., Monday, April 14, 2014 in the Shipman Funeral Home Chapel. Hester is survived by her sons, Carl and wife Louise Osborn of Adair, Oklahoma, Gail and wife Donna Osborn of Adair, Oklahoma and Curtis and wife Marlene Osborn of Big Cabin, Oklahoma; and sister, Wendolene Rash of Omaha, Nebraska; 7 grandchildren; 19 great grandchildren and 9 great great grandchildren; special niece, Bobbi Swanson of Owasso, Oklahoma; many other relatives and friends. She is preceded in death by her husband, Waid Osborn, and brother and sisters, Clinton Warren, Jesse Doyle, Marjorie Lucille, Wendall Harold, Mulburn Eugene, Sarah Harriet, Patricia Lou, and Loren Lavern and 2 great great grandchildren, Hartley Brown and Michael Osborn.
