Irris Rex

Irris Geneva Rex, 78, of Pryor, passed away on Thursday, January 22, 2015 in Pryor, Oklahoma. She was born on October 15, 1936 in Big Cabin, Oklahoma; the daughter of Ben Sr. and Bettie (Waldrop) Parman. Irris married George Emmett Rex at Utopia Baptist Church on June 24, 1956. Irris enjoyed spending time at home and taking care of her husband, Emmett. She will be remembered by all the wonderful memories she leaves behind and will be missed by all who knew and loved her. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m., Tuesday, January 27, 2015 in the Shipman's Funeral Home Chapel with Reverend Tobe Sperry officiating. Burial will follow in the Adair Cemetery with Albert Raleigh, Austin Raleigh, Glen Parman, Benjamin Parman, Jim Parman, and Troy Parman serving as casket bearers. Honorary casket bearer will be Shawn Parman. Visitation will be held from 10:00 a.m. until 8:00 p.m., Monday, January 26, 2015 in the Shipman's Funeral Home Chapel. Irris is survived by her husband, George Emmett Rex of the home; brother, Ben Parman, Jr., and wife Billie Diane of Big Cabin, Oklahoma; sister, Betty Murray of Strang, Oklahoma; and many nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by her parents, Ben and Bettie Parman; brothers, Ralph Parman and Ronald Parman.
