Iverna

Iverna Margaret Sisson, 90, of Pryor, passed away on Friday, July 15, 2016 in Salina, Oklahoma. She was born on August 27, 1925 in Conway, Kansas; the daughter of Albert and Gertrude (Stone) Strohm. Iverna married Harold Sisson on July 25, 1948. Iverna worked as a cook in the Pryor public school system most of her life, she enjoyed the time she was able to give a smile or say a kind word to each kid that came through the lunch line, she also loved spending time raising her children and tending to the house. She was a member of the Nazarene Church in Pryor. Her church family brought a great amount of joy to her life and she enjoyed attending services and church events and would cook for other families of the church. She enjoyed bird watching, fishing, and hummingbirds. She also never went anywhere without a smile on her face and she always had a kind word or a compliment to each one she came in contact with. She loved her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren and leaves behind a legacy for them all to cherish. A loving wife, mother, and grandmother, she was a blessing to all who knew and loved her. She is survived by her son Craig and wife Barbara Sisson of Pryor, Oklahoma; daughter, Cheryl Roybal of Santa Fe, New Mexico; very special niece, Sandy and husband Dan Lampe of Colorado Springs, Colorado; grandchildren, Torie and husband Scott Wasson of Slidell, Louisiana, Chad Roybal of Santa Fe, New Mexico, Cheri Roybal of Portland, Organ, Charity and husband Lucas Horn of Columbus, Georgia, Krystal and husband Brad Henry of Inola, Oklahoma; great grandchildren, Tyler and Danica Wasson of Slidell, Louisiana, Ethan and Garrett Henry of Inola, Oklahoma and many other relatives and friends. She is preceded in death by her husband, Harold Sisson; sister, June Cookson and parents, Albert and Gertrude Strohm.
