Ivy Hall

Ivy Marie Hall, 81, of Salina, Oklahoma, passed away on Monday, September 4, 2017 in Tulsa, Oklahoma. She was born on January 7, 1936 in Bronte, Texas, the daughter of Melvin N. McKinny and Martha (Gibson) McKinny. She was a wonderful mother and caregiver. Ivy had lived in the Salina area for 30 years moving here from El Reno, Oklahoma. She is remembered by her children as a wonderful mother, who wrote short stories for them. She enjoyed cooking and was a wonderful cook. She loved the outdoors and to go fishing with her late husband, Ralph, who would have fishing contests in which she always won, keeping her largest in the freezer for such times as she needed the biggest fish. She had studied to be an accountant. Marie was a lady of faith who dearly loved her Lord. She enjoyed nature and especially watching her hummingbirds and growing roses. She enjoyed quiet times of reading her favorite author, John Grisham. Her greatest joy was her family and they will keep her close in their memories forever.

Graveside services will be held on Friday, September 8, 2017 at 2 p.m. in the Bryan Chapel Cemetery at Boatman, Oklahoma with Chaplain Roger Miller officiating. Casket bearers are Houston Hall, Matthew Hall, Matt Watkins, Michael Watkins, Matthew Hall Jr. and Timothy (Tadpole) White. Honorary casket bearers are Steve Mosby and Charlie Root. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 6-8 p.m. on Thursday evening. She is survived by her sons, Houston R. Hall of Tulsa, OK, Matthew K. Hall of Salina, OK; her daughters, Luwanda Tompkins of Salina, OK, Leslie McClain of Rockdale, TX, Carolyn and husband, Matt of Kingfisher, OK, Angela Whitnah of Okarche, OK, Greta Montgomery of Salina, OK, Sandy Guzeman of Chelsea, Oklahoma; her sister, Elizabeth Parton of Belton, TX; 17 grandchildren and 9 great grandchildren; many other relatives and friends. She is preceded in death by her husband, Ralph C. Hall; her parents, Melvin and Martha McKinney; her sons, Ralph C. Hall, Jr, and Cecil M. Hall; brothers Orval, Millard, Kenny, Hubert and John McKinny; sisters, Suzie Young, Vivian Carr, Dorothy Kirchman, and Jean York, and Edna McKinny.
