Jackie Elbert Rogers, 87, of Pryor, passed away on Tuesday, July 19, 2016 at his home in Pryor. He was born on March 6, 1929 in Geary, Oklahoma; the son of Dorothy Helms. Jackie has lived in the Mayes County area all of his life and attended Salina Schools, where he played basketball and was an eagle scout. He married the love of his life, Armilda Erwin, on June 18, 1950 in Lancaster, Pennsylvania. He was an avid golfer and was a member of the Pryor Golf Club. Jackie helped Linda Shreffler with the Pryor High School Girls Golf Team, and enjoyed taking them to state for 14 years. Jackie also had a love for the outdoors, especially when he was able to go fishing, hunting and to work in his garden. He looked forward to spending time with his family and enjoyed each moment he had with them. He leaves behind many wonderful memories and will be missed by all who knew and loved him. Jackie is survived by his wife, Armilda of the home; son, Jackie Rogers and wife Julie of Pryor, Oklahoma; daughters, Kimberly Jensen and husband Mike of Salina, Oklahoma and Anita Jackson and husband Ron of Pryor, Oklahoma; 9 grandchildren; 13 great grandchildren; and many other relatives and friends. He is preceded in death by his mother, Dorothy Helms and grandmother, Nancy Lowery.
