James Delano Beasley, 82, of Langley, passed away on Tuesday, August 8, 2017 at his home in Langley. He was born on January 30, 1935 in Alton, Illinois; the son of Elvin and Hazel (Hargiss) Beasley. Jim was known for his love of people, having a good time wherever he was. He was always ready to help people in their need - monetarily or just mowing their lawn, or bringing them food. He was active in the food bank in Langley and also in his church. He was a member of the Otterbein United Methodist Church in Langley, and enjoyed attending church events. He never met a stranger and would strike up a conversation with anyone he came in contact with. He had an ornery personality and like to tease, in a loving way. Jim was a 33rd degree Scottish Rite Mason, and was a member of the Adair Lodge #99 and Pryor Lodge #100. He was also a member of the Shriner's. Jim was also active in the Eastern Star Chapters as a Protem Officer and was involved in their initiation ceremonies. In 2000, he was his wife's, Doris, Grand Escort for the Sugar Babes and Sugar Bears Grand Family. He served as Grand Representative 2 times for Oklahoma Grand Chapter and even served 2 years as Mr. District Deputy. Jim was a proud United States Marine Veteran and served from August 4, 1952 until being honorably discharged on June 30, 1972. Each year, Jim placed flags on veteran's graves in local cemeteries. He enjoyed taking care of his home, especially his yard and looked forward to mowing season. He would enjoy mowing his grass, making his home look the best it could. Jim was loved by so many and he will be missed by all who knew and loved him.
