James Andrew Byrd, 69, of Salina, passed away on Friday, January 1, 2016 in Salina, Oklahoma. He was born on January 4, 1946 in Tahlequah, Oklahoma; the son of Andy and Martha (Chucklate) Byrd. James faithfully served his country in the United States Army. He worked at Hemsaw as a machinist for many years. He was a lifetime resident of Mayes County and was a member of the Elks Lodge and the American Legion. He enjoyed the outdoors and spending time with his family and friends. He leaves behind many wonderful memories and will be missed by all who knew and loved him. No formal services are planned at this time. James is survived by his half brother, Carroll Byrd and half sister, Francine Camden; cousin, Frances Sanders; and many other relatives and friends.
