James “Jimmy” Moorhead

Jim Moorhead, 86, of Afton, Oklahoma passed away on Friday, December 7, 2018 in Tulsa, Oklahoma.  Jim was born on October 9, 1932 in Dunigan, Missouri, the son of William Moorhead and Alice (Swanson) Moorhead.  He married Jean Mullin on November 26, 1955 at Miami, Oklahoma and had recently celebrated their 63rd Wedding Anniversary. Jim owned and operated Moorhead Excavating. He and wife, Jean attended the Cleora Community Church.  A loving husband and father, he will be so very missed by all who knew and loved him.

Funeral Services will be held on Tuesday, December 11, 2018 at 11 a.m. in the Cleora Community Church with Reverend Jerry Ogden officiating.  Interment will follow in the McLaughlin Cemetery with Brandon Moorhead, Rex Moorhead Jr., Joe Moorhead, Keaton Moorhead, Rony Alberti, Austin Snodderly and Bill Mullin serving as casket bearers.   Honorary casket bearers will be Heather Moorhead Compton, Amber Thompson, Kacie Snodderly, Johanna Alberti, Rocky Alberti, Chase Moorhead, Rhett Moorhead, Lincoln Moorhead, Bentlee Moorhead, Logan Moorhead and Bailey Moorhead. Visitation will be held from 6-8 p.m. on Monday evening in the Cleora Community Church in Cleora, Oklahoma.  Arrangements are under the direction of Shipman’s Funeral & Cremation Service.

Jim is survived by his wife, Jean of the home; sons, James Moorhead Jr. of Howe, OK, Wayne and wife, Cassandra Moorhead of Vinita, OK, William  Moorhead and wife, Tonya of Cleora, OK and Leonard Moorhead  and wife, Brenda of Vinita, OK; daughter, Pauline Sue Alberti of Houston, TX;  15 grandchildren and 11 great grandchildren; multiple nieces and nephews; many other relatives and friends.  He was preceded in death by his parents and 6 siblings.
