Janice Nan Smith - Bell, 77, of Tulsa, passed away on Saturday, May 18, 2013 in Tulsa, Oklahoma. She was born on May 9, 1936, the daughter of Max and Nona (Nall) Smith. Janice lived in Tulsa most of her life, working as a waitress in many local restaurants. She will be remembered for her great sense of humor and how she was always a go-getter. Janice could make friends with anyone and loved to make to people around her smile. She loved to read, play bingo and go to casinos. She attended the Emmanuel Baptist Church in Tulsa. Janice was a lovely lady who will be so very missed by all who knew and loved her. Funeral services will be held in the Shipman's Funeral Home chapel on Wednesday, May 18, 2013 at 2:00 p.m., with Reverend Phillip Dark officiating. Interment will be in the Benge Cemetery in Strang with Charles Wolf, Max Vargas, Justin Burke, Gary Best, Roger Vargas, and Jonathon Herlan serving as casket bearers. She is survived by one son, James R. Bell of Tulsa, Oklahoma; three daughters, Maxine Best of Locust Grove, Oklahoma, Janith Vargas of Hartman, Colorado, and Mildred Greer of Tulsa, Oklahoma; one sister, Nona Smith, Jr., of Tulsa, Oklahoma; one step - daughter, Darlene Milive of Sacramento, California; 7 grandchildren and 8 great - grandchildren; many other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her husband, Charles W. Bell and two brothers, Max Smith, Jr. and James Robert Smith.
